Bebe Pod - Sage Review

(More customer reviews)DS started sitting in the Bebepod when he was about 8 weeks old, as soon as he could support his own head. At that age, all of his other "seats" (swing, high chair, car seat, stroller, etc) had him in a semi-reclining position, where he's resting on the back of his head (that, along with the "Back to Sleep" campaign to prevent SIDS, contributes to the prevalence of "flat head" in many babies today).

Before the baby was able to sit up by himself, aside from us holding him up or his relatively brief tummy times, this was the best (and only) way to have him be upright on his own! There's really nothing else like it on the market. He loved the freedom of being able to turn his head and upper body around and interact with his arms. He sat in it to play, eat, watch TV, or just hang out with us. He really loved sitting independently, like a big boy!

We bought both the Bumbo and the Bebepod, since we couldn't decide which to get initially, and we used one for upstairs and one for downstairs. To be honest, they are really very similar, except that the Bebepod is more aesthetically pleasing. Its styling and pretty pastel colors are much nicer than the Bumbo's loud ugly colors. Both are made from low-density foam, which looks smooth like plastic but feels soft and comfortable to the touch. Both are lightweight and easily wipes clean. It's a great seat to take with you to the park, the beach, or Grandma's house.

The Bumbo seat is designed so that the baby's butt dips further down quite a bit further in the seat than his legs do. That, along with the arm rests, seem to support him better when he was small (around 8-14 weeks). However, after he grew bigger, the Bebepod seems to be a bit more comfortable for him, since his bottom isn't dipped down as low and it maintains his posture better. Without the arm rests, his arms are able to reach his toys more easily in the Bebepod. Also, he likes to rest his hands or his toys on the center pommel of the Bebepod, where as his toys often fall off when he's in the Bumbo. (Our pommel seems very secure, and we did not experience the other reviewers' complaints of it coming off.)

NOTE: This is NOT a chair in which you should leave your child unattended. Since it does not have any buckles, it is possible for a child to wiggle himself out of the seat by arching his back once he's a little older. We usually keep the seat on the carpet, so that he stays safe even if he does manage to get himself out of it. (It's only happened once when he was about 6 months old. DS is 8.5 months old now.) Sometimes, we do place the seat on the table or in another chair in order to feed him, but then he's always closely monitored.

UPDATE: DS is now 11-months old. After he became adept at sitting on his own, unsupported, the Bebepod and Bumbo were no longer necessary. He liked to crawl and stand, so the confining nature of these infant seats were no longer appropriate. However, we're still happy with our purchase. The seats have served their purpose and we will keep them for the next baby.

In summary, this is a GREAT infant seat, which we would definitely purchase again. However, before you make your decision, realize that the usage of it may be limited to approximately 6 months or so, depending on your child.

The quality is great and finding things to coordinate has been fun and simple since the colors are blue and white it hasn't been tricky. I only wish they would have more accesories to go along with like perhaps the lamp and accent rug... that would be nice.

(More customer reviews)This really has been a wonderful addition to our home and our baby always loved this.He would sit and watch the little fishies spin and listen to the music or the bubbling sound effects.He never seemed to be bored! I would feed him in this and after his meal, attach the toy bar and have at least 15 minutes to straighten up and clean up.It worked great for me to catch 10 minutes here and there.Sometimes he would even fall asleep when I would use the vibrating feature.

Luca used this from about 2 months until about 9 months and I changed the batteries 3 times.

I liked having the ability to change the sounds from music to water effects.This bouncer enables you to put it in interactive mode where your infant's movements will cause the toy bar to react with lights and sounds.Perhaps around 5 months,my little guy discovered and really enjoyed this feature.All your baby has to do is wiggle or kick their little feet while seated in this and their little movements will make the toy bar react.You can also switch the toy bar's lights and sounds into a continuous mode.This is great for when your baby is younger.

I was sorry when my son outgrew this because it was something he enjoyed so very much.

Our neighbor is now using it for their 3 month old daughter and they love it as much as we did.

One final and wonderful feature of this is the ease of removing the pad the great way the fabric washes.Mine was always in the washer and dryer and never shrunk or faded!The plastic cleaned extremely well.After 6 months of continuous use and cleaning, this product looks brand new!

My son always slept like a log in this thing and loved to just sit in it and be talked to! It's very soft and very comfy for little ones, the blanket that comes with it is great, and my son loved the vibrate motion! Once he started rolling over we had to stop using it, but we're keeping it safe for the next little one!

A friend of our has a daughter about the same age as our son who wouldn't take naps. When they came to visit they put her in it and she took a two hour nap, they couldn't believe! Needless to say they went right out and got one for her!

(More customer reviews)We received this item as a gift, and initially thought it was great.However, I quickly realized that it doesn't fit a lot of shopping carts.Many stores now have carts that have a larger distance between the handlebar and the seat, with cupholders in between, and this cover will not fit them.Also, the velcro squares that hold the cover in place are not strong enough and come apart frequently - snaps would have been better.This cover also does not cover the sides of the cart seat, so if your child tends to hold onto the sides for support, you will not be as germ-free as you hoped.

Britax Boulevard 65 Click and Safe Car Seat Review

(More customer reviews)We've had this seat about one month now though our three year old has been in his Boulevard since he was 6 months.It is our second Britax Boulevard and our fourth Britax product overall.We like the Boulevard because of its excellent safety and comfort features.The Boulevard is very big and thus very versatile as it will span a long period of our child's early life (up to 65 lbs).That said, the "Click and Safe" model is probably worth the extra few dollars so that folks not used to using a car seat (e.g. grandparents) can safely determine when the seat belt is sufficiently tight.However, we have it installed "rear facing" right now and it pinches the belt.Thus, I'm not sure the click and safe feature is really working.However, this is not our first seat so we know how tight it needs to be.Britax has improved the belt buckle so that it snaps together more easily now.We also think Britax offers that most stylish seats with the best quality fabric.The bottom line is that this is a great seat that is as safe or safer than anything else on the market.It's comfortable, versitile, and stylish.The lone 'negative' is that it's very big.Thus, if you have a compact car, you will havetrouble getting it installed as a rear facing seat without impacting the driver or passenger seat.We have a 2003 BMW 5 Series wagon and, when installed rear facing, it does touch the front passenger seat.However, there is sufficient room for a 6 foot adult male to sit in front comfortably.On the flip side, I believe that if you're buying a small car seat, to some degree you're sacrificing safety.When installed front facing, the size is less of an issue.I know it's a pricey seat, but considering it should last us about five years, I think we can swing the $5/month it will cost us to keep our kids safe and happy.Last, but not least, the Mom wanted the 'girlie' fabric for our little girl.Her older brother has a different pattern.Even I must admit the pattern is cute for our little girl and I do think she likes it.

My twins were just over two when they started being able to freely jump over the crib railing and so I needed to switch them into big boys and girls beds. Couple of months before (at first signs of them wanting to put a leg over the rail) I had preemptively started training them to sleep in one direction in the cribs by putting a pillow at one end and emphasizing that this is how mommy & daddy sleep, ect. The difficulty for us was to find the right rail to fit the big beds we already had for them - daybeds. Most of the 'hard' rails on the market would not fit since the daybeds have a wooden frame and the mattress is slightly sunken in. When I saw this product and read the reviews, I knew it was the one to try, and could hardly wait to get it in the mail. We got the pink one for my daughter and the denim for my son. The kids were so excited about their new beds and since the product arrived on a Friday, we made the move that very weekend. It took two nights, but by Monday they got the feel for it. It has been 3 months now and we LOVE these bedrails. It's true that they 'shift', but we found that since the twins already were sleeping in one direction just the feeling that there is 'something' there at the edge was enough for them to remain inside the beds. This product also has helped them to learn to sleep with a cover on (never did get the concept in the cribs). I have attached the bedrails over their bedcovers so that it keeps the bed covers down - this helps with keeping the kids in the beds, but also when they toss&turn the cover does not turn with them. This was not something I expected but is a bonus as far as I'm concerned. And finally, aesthetically because of the color choices and the shape (kind of like a pillow) these bedrails are so much more pleasant to look at in a child's room than a rigid bedrail.
We are very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to any parent, with the caveat of having to 'teach' your child the basic skills for sleeping in one direction prior to moving them into a big boy/girl bed.
