(More customer reviews)Don't get me wrong. I love my boppy but if I had to rate it as a nursing aid (which I am doing so in this review), I would say it leaves much to be desired. When I first bought the boppy, I thought it was god's gift to moms. My son was a premie who learned to bottle feed first. I spent 3 weeks trying to teach him to breast feed. I bought the boppy and nearly cried in happiness because of the help and support it gave me. However, I own both the boppy and "my brest friend" nursing pillow. If you can afford both, get both. If you are looking for a great nursing aid, nothing can touch the "brest friend". Otherwise, I can see the potential of the boppy reading other reviews. It's got soo many uses as an all around pillow and I have to admit my husband and I fight over this pillow just because it's the most comfy pillow for taking a nice nap. The reason why I prefer the "brest friend" over the boppy:
1) Support: Boppy, unless you are sitting with your legs straight out, caves in towards the center where your belly button and the baby's belly is. I think it's uncomfortable for the baby. Brest friend is VERY FIRM support with raised pillows for the babys head on either side of your breasts. You can't see the "pillows". YOu have to run your hands over the pillow to feel it.
2) Ledge width: The Boppy is essentially a cylinder curved in a U shape. There isn't that much space for the baby to lie on. The brest friend is a wide flat surface. Plenty of space for baby and for me to squeeze on a cup and the remote control.
3) Valley: Because the boppy is a cylinder that's curved, there is a valley that forms between your belly and the boppy itself. My baby tends to fall in, get his leg stuck and it's not very comfortable. The brest friend forms a perfect right angle with your belly. Yet at the same time, this valley is a great for snuggling the baby while watching TV and making sure he doesn't move.
What I do like about the Boppy over the brest friend is that it sells spare slipcovers which the Brest Friend doesn't.

(More customer reviews)Maybe not an essential to breastfeeding, but once you get one you'll wonder how you could have survived without it. I didn't use mine because my lactation consultant showed me how to arrange a few pillows, telling that was better than any expensive nursing pillow. And I thought, "this works, why mess with a good thing?"

But after weeks of struggling with unusually long nursing sessions with my latch-challenged son, my husband says, "Why don't you try the boppy?" Why? Because I have my carefully arrange pillow system, thank you. And this is as comfortable as it's going to get. But I gave it a shot and WOW! After the first time I was hooked. I didn't have to support my baby's body as much, and within a couple of weeks was even able to nurse with one hand free.

The Boppy pillow allows me to sit in many more positions, since now I only have to worry about ONE pillow and can easily adjust it. Also, now that he's a little older, I use it toprop him up to sit and face me. Also, he likes to lay on it with his chest supported, which frees his hands for grabbing fun things to shove in his mouth.

I chose this particular nursing pillow because it doesn't have any straps or crazy add-ons. I just wanted something simple. I chose this cover design because it's super soft and thick. I'm sure it feels nice on his bare back when he nurses in just a diaper. And with all the adorable baby stuff you get as a mommy, it's nice to have a classier, more adultish design. My son loves the three little bears on it and tries to eat them.

The covers washes well. I wash it in cool water and drip dry. It dries quickly, within a few hours. I haven't found that I need a second cover.

I would definitely recommend this pillow to any mother, especially if you're nursing. Have fun with it! You'll be surprised by how such a simple design is so awesome.

(More customer reviews)I received my boppy a few weeks before my daughter was born and found uses for it right away! It supported the small of my back when I had to sit in hard chairs and I even used it to prop myself up with at night to prevent that dreaded heartburn!
I faithfully took my boppy along when I went into labor and found another use for it even before I gave our daughter her first feed! The doctor had given me an episiotomy and I really struggled to sit up properly on the stitches. Boppy to the rescue again! Sitting on this pillow took the pressure off my stitches so that I could hold and feed my baby without pain!
It is great for breastfeeding and allows me to have my hands free so that I can answer my e-mail and breastfeed at the same time ;-) She loves to lie in it, the older kids love to play with it and I can see I will need to buy a few more...;-)
The only critisism I have is that If my baby spills her milk while feeding, the color from the boppy runs and ruins her jumpers. Get a cover if you want to buy this specific style.

This fits well around you without leaving gaps. Your baby will snuggle close to you and you can adjust it when baby gets older so that you can elevate the baby, give a bit more head up or however she prefers to nurse.
The pillow snuggles right in and around you. PERFECT for rocking chairs.But also to just for lap use, like on a couch or such. I have one for upstairs and one for downstairs.
It moves right in as the pictures shows. The baby is NOT laying off the pillow, as shown in the pictures, unless you want her to.
I love that it doesn't show stains. I have a pink one and the color is beautiful. Soft but not pastel. It never loses shape. Bounces right back or stays soft but in shape.
As you can tell I am really happy and satisfied with it. Can recommend it.
Note: it has no changing option. It is one peace and you can't take the cover off.
LOVE the prodcut. Never felt that satisfied or happy with any of the other nursing pillows.
Especially the Bobby pillow. It never fit right nor around me.
Usually things are made for shorter women, but I am 6 feet it works well for me.
My friends who are shorter have come over and used it for their baby and it works well for them also.
Doesn't lose shape or firmness.
It is soft to touch but feels like a very good pillow you would rest your head on.

(More customer reviews)One of my closest friends raved about her Boppy and told me how she could not have lived without it. I ordered this one and it's so cute...only drawback, it smells very TOXIC. It is made in China and after opening mine and getting gassed by it's smell (and it is not from the packaging, when I let it sit out a while and then put my nose up to the inner cushion that is where the fumes are emitted from) well, after this happened I researched a bit about BOPPY online, turns out their products are made in China, and they've had several recalls, one being the zipers were painted with Lead Paint and also were loose and a choaking hazard. It bothers me when baby manufacturers, claiming to make helpful wholesome products, skimp and choosing China as the site of manufacturing is in my opinion SKIMPING big time! I'm sure Boppy has great profits.

(More customer reviews)I nursed my son with the original Boppy for a year. Yes, it is wonderful and everything the other reviewers said. However, my issue is that it begins to "bend" in the middle from use. Really, this is fine...I mean a year of nursing is going to be hard on any pillow. But my main complaint is that the covers they make for these things are NOT waterproof (or spit-up proof). What is the point of a cover? I had to wrap my entire Boppy in saran wrap, then put the cover on to get any protection nd prevent smelly stains. just my two cents.
