(More customer reviews)I was looking to buy a baby gift for a friend and remembered our favorite "Danger Pillow" from when my son was a baby (now he's 2.) Here's the review I wrote for the old Boppy Lounger:

"Our one month old son loves to sleep on this pillow. Next to his parents, the Boppy Newborn Lounger is his favorite place to crash (despite all the warning labels.) Once you read all the warning tags, you suspect the whole thing will catch on fire the moment you start to fold the laundry. I'm pretty sure it's all for liability purposes, the pillow itself does not seem very suspicious. Obviously, don't put it on top of the dryer, but how a baby could NOT sleep on this pillow is beyond me. My preemie son loves to sleep, rest, digest and chill on his pillow (he's now 6.5 pounds) and it supports his little body well. I would recommend this one to any new parent.

My husband and I call it the DANGER PILLOW due to all the fearsome labeling. So far it has not attacked any of us."

I am pleased to say that the extensively labeled DANGER PILLOW never so much as raised a hand to any of us and is now the cat's favorite place to crash after a long day of being chased by my toddler!

(More customer reviews)I was so excited to get this slip cover, so I could quit using blankets to pretect my daughters lounger from spit up, droll, poo explosions, and all that other fun stuff we mothers go through.Anyways, this has not let me down.I have washed it a few times and it has not shrunk and has stood up very well.The material is very soft not like your typical scratchy cotton covers bopppy has, but much thicker and much more soft. I would not recommend buying the lounger without one of these covers....they are a must!!

(More customer reviews)This Boppy Newborn Lounger is actually the second generation of the product.My granddaughter, now two years old, was given one of the originals as a baby gift, and still used it for napping up until six months or so ago.

When my grandson was born recently, I ordered this one, and was surprised to see the design is a little different from the original.Fortunately, the changes are for the better.The cover on the original lounger was removeable for washing, but the new lounger can be washed in its entirety.Since bottle spills, diaper mishaps, and upset tummies occur frequently with infants, the washability of the whole lounger is a plus.

We keep the Boppy Newborn Lounger on the sofa so the baby can be near his caretaker when not being held.It is shaped like a large donut, but the "hole" of the donut is enclosed, so the infant can sit comfortably with his head elevated slightly.

When my daughter saw this newer version, she confiscated it for use at her house, and traded me for the original Boppy Newborn Lounger.

Please note that the Boppy, which is a U-shaped pillow made to assist in feeding the infant, is a completely different product from the Boppy Newborn Lounger.I consider the Newborn Lounger to be far more useful a product, and plan to make it my default baby gift for the near future.
