(More customer reviews)My son loves pandas.He has a lot of plush panda toys.So I saw this a thought it would be a unique gift.Well...it is "unique".The concept is great.The doll is very plush and the blanket is pretty soft too.It is nice that it all folds up and becomes a lovie!However...those eyes!!!We gave this as a birthday gift.So when it came in the mail, I just kept it in the amazon box and waiting until the day...a "you got a package in the mail with your name on it" kind of deal.When the box was opened and the panda came out, the first thing we saw was the creepy eyes!Not only do they look like they are staring at you, they look like they follow you too!Yikes!!!!It is in the stitching.They really contrast against the black plush so they stand out...a lot!!!The ears are also stitched with a grayish/white thread, almost like an "outline"?There is no reason for the outlined ears!And I think they could have made the eyes a little more subtle.
That being said, my son fell in love with the thing.We thought of taking the outside ear stitches out to calm it down a little, but he wanted to keep it the way it was.So be it.Would I buy this again? Sure.It was not purchased as a "lovie" for the family or for me for that matter, if he is happy with 'ol creepy eyes, so be it!
There is a whole line of these animals.I don't know if they have the same eyes/ears/etc.But they are very plush, durable, and fun.My recommendation is based on the quality and how the kid likes the toy.The eyes and ears are one of those "its beside the point" things.
